Weather

Thursday 7th August 2008

Yet another busy week. On Friday we had a family day out to the Museum of Coastal Defence on HK island. It is near North Point and right on the eastern edge of the island and was quite exciting as we had not been to that part of the island yet. I had a lovely time going around the rooms in my Bjorn (but think that I might have fallen asleep at one point).

We have had quite a chilling out week. The weather has been lovely, so we have made the most of it and headed down to the pool quite a bit. I love the water now and really enjoying splashing daddy - although I always end up splashing myself as well, never mind!

I am still enjoying my purees, even the courgette and I am slowly gobbling more and more down. Mummy insists that I do not need to make so much noise when I eat, but I think all the "yummy" noises and trying to snort bits up my nose that have missed my mouth, make the whole dinner experience much more fun!! Mummy has also let me have a bit of her toast, which i was not that keen on (far too bitty and crumbly), but I did have a little bit of her strawberry and really enjoyed that. Think I am definitely a sweet, not savoury, baby.

Mummy and I had our lunch with the WAG's on Monday which was really nice, it was Italian. I did fall asleep but some nasty people on the table next to us scraped there chairs really loudly when they left and woke me up - nasty people!

On Wednesday, we woke up to scary weather. We had a typhoon number 8 which means it is very windy and rainy and everything shuts down, even the ferry so we were marooned on the island!!! Although it sounds scary, it was actually quite boring as we were stuck indoors for most of the day.

I have been busy learning new skills as well this week. I am now getting very good at rolling over from my tummy to my back, which is nice when I am sleeping as it means I am much comfier. I am also getting much better at sitting up, although I still need to be supported I can sit for a few seconds before I wobble too much one way and slowly fall over!! I managed 13 seconds today, which was an Ellie record.

On a negative note this week, my teeth have decided to make the final push for freedom and they are hurting me lots. I have been chewing on everything and anything and we are all hoping that they fully appear soon, as otherwise I am worried that my thumb might disappear from too much chewing!!

Finally, mummy and daddy went out tonight for their anniversary, so I stayed at home with the babysitter. I had a really nice night and only woke up briefly once to say hello! Mummy and daddy had a lovely long relaxing meal at Caprice on the main island So all in all a successful evening.

The pictures show me chilling out with mummy and daddy and attempting to take myself out for a walk in the Bjorn, when I got too bored waiting for mummy and daddy to get ready!! Well next week is our last in Hong Kong, so I am sure it will be manic and a little sad, although it will be exciting to be moving on to live in my second country at the grand old age of 6 and a half months!!

Kisses to all,
Eleanor xx

PS Hope you are all managing to watch the Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony tomorrow night, I will be in bed but am going to watch the highlights so I can work out what discipline to enter in the 2020 games - is there a gold medal for messiest eater?!
